Vent Rerouting

All dryer vents should be routed and exhausted to the outside of the home. This is mandated in most building codes and dryer manufacturers now state this in installation manuals. Still, all too often, our technicians discover dryer vents that improperly terminate in attics, garages, crawl spaces, wall cavities, and other undesirable locations. This can create health hazards, such as mold, and allergen accumulation in a home as well as indoor air quality issues. Sometimes, technicians will determine a more efficient way to exhaust the dryer to the outside. Often this requires placing new holes in wood, brick stucco or concrete walls.
